Italy, August production down 0.5% on the month, up 1.0% on year, below expectations – Istat – Reuters Italy

       

 ROME, Oct. 9 (Reuters) – In August, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production fell 0.5% on-month by + 1.1% recorded in July. This was announced by ISTAT. The index adjusted for working days was up by 1% on an annual basis from 2.8% in July (revised from + 2.7%). Economists’ forecasts pointed to a drop of 0.3% on the month and a 1.6% increase on year. Istat noted that on average in the quarter from June to August 2015, the production marked no change against the previous quarter, while the average for the first eight  months of the year, production increased by 0.8% over the same period previous.
