Beer, InBev drinking SabMiller agreement by 90 billion euro. Change master also Peroni – The Messenger

The Belgian beer giant InBev, which owns the brands Budweiser, Beck’s, Corona and Stella Artois, you eat the South African SabMiller, which also controls the Italian Peroni.

InBev, born in 2008 from the merger between the giant Belgian and American Anheuser-Busch, has given the green light for the acquisition of Sabmiller to 68 billion pounds (104 billion dollars or 91 billion euro). Birth of a conglomerate that produces a third of mugs drunk every day in the world.

SabMiller, born in turn from the merger of the South African group with the American Miller, agreed “in principle” the offer purchase by InBev, which already controls about 200 brands of beer, for 44 pounds a share (50% more than the initial bid submitted in September).

The value of the takeover touches 104 billion, the highest in British history, a record that until now it was up to the merger by 47 billion pounds between British Gas and Royal Dutch Shell launched this year. The new giant will have its registered office in Belgium.

The mega-merger will give activity to a group with revenues of $ 64 billion and a market capitalization of over 250 monstre billion euro that will operate in all the major beer markets and will open its doors to the group bela Africa.

According to the agency Bloomberg the merger, which creates a giant able to control half of the profits made each year in the brewing industry, it has been accelerated by braking emerging economies. After years of speculation, the deal was in fact accelerated the slowdown especially the economies of China and Brazil.

The two largest shareholders of SabMiller, Altria Group and Bevco (who hold 41% stake) may choose between supply cash or a mixed offer in cash and shares: for every action SabMiller will be offered 0.48 shares titles InBev and 3.78 pounds in cash.

The InBev shares on the square in Brussels are gaining 2%, while shares SabMiller marking a rise of 9.4% to 39.62 pounds in London.
