Nothing new agreement did strike and the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Midnight and three minutes of yesterday now American workers of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that all day had been involved in the preparations for agitation have instead received news that the union UAW has reached a new agreement in principle with the company on contract four-year work. The new compromise will be shown on Friday morning to union officials.

The union did not disclose details but said that the agreement “includes significant improvements” compared to the previous agreement which was however rejected by a large majority workers.
Fca confirmed the turning point in a brief statement without in turn divulge it, “Chrysler Group LLC confirms that it has reached a new agreement with the UAW. As the agreement is subject to ratification by members of the UAW, the company can not discuss the details of the pending vote of the members. “
The deadline for the strike – which would be the first since 2007 for Chrysler when it had not yet been absorbed by Fca – it was announced by the union two days ago with a notification to the company and to the public if it had not been found by then a new agreement on the four-year work contract. A strike of all establishments would cost some analysts say up to 40 million dollars in operating profits and a billion dollars a week to the company.

The Fca has 23 plants in the United States, concentrated in the Midwest Industrial, from Michigan to Indiana and Ohio. Throughout the unionized employees of the company are 40,000. Eight years ago, also during contract negotiations, they went on strike for seven hours, but by 2011 had respected anti-strike clauses, now expired, that were part of the concessions agreed upon as part of the rescue of car manufacturers by the government during the crisis.

The notification of the possible strike had appeared in major plant in Kokomo, Indiana, crucial for the production of 75% of the Jeep and Ram, among the most profitable vehicles Fca in the United States. Formally known union maintained that the American 11.59 hours on Wednesday, extending the previous contract, which expired on September 14, it was no longer valid.

However, they also continued to deal with a vengeance during the day yesterday to try to find compromises in extremis that avoided the turmoil. A negotiation that ended positively: already at 10,17 a message on the Facebook page created by the union negotiating let in optimism by warning the workers “not to let the plants before receiving instructions’ of representatives of union. Fca spokesman had earlier indicated that “the discussions are making progress.”

The negotiations to Chrysler is closely followed by the entire auto industry, because the United Auto Workers has chosen to put in Fca fire its model of national contract, to be applied later in negotiations with the other big Detroit, General Motors and Chrysler.
A first agreement signed by the union leaders and the company was, however, rejected last week by a large majority, with 65% of the vote by the UAW members, who had called inadequate. In the first game is over double band of pay, with younger workers still at lower wages: the disparity was gradually reduced in the proposed contract but not deleted as requested by many factory. Doubts have also raised a sense of co-operative health care reform and the revelation of new production plans that would shift the production of less profitable cars in Mexico.
