The crisis broke Italy: the North again, sinking the South – The Republic

Milan – The Italian families feel economically stronger. In October the index Sef Confesercenti SWG that measure on a scale of 1 to 100 economic strength “perceived” by Italian families, share rises to 58, with a jump of two points over July and marking the highest level since December 2013. but emerges an Italy in three speeds: North out of the crisis center that tries to leave, while the South is still at stake. In particular, the 16% of households in the South can not make it to the end of the month, the North is 8%.

It continues the trend of slight improvement in general sentiment of households on their income capacity. All is not solved yet. Yet about half of the families (even though the percentage drops to 48% from 50% in July) indicates that their income allows her to just pay the costs, without being able to afford more luxuries, while rising from 36% to 38% share of those who feel they have an income that allows you to live without troubles.

‘especially in the north and center that warns the restart: 47% (44% in July) of northern families are serene, while the center is 35% (31% in July) it lies in the middle. In the South, however, the crisis is still strong: serene families are only 29%, while those who report to have an income that does not allow to get to the end of the month is 16%, the same value as in July, against the 13% registered at the center, and 8% in the North.

It continues the slight recovery of the positive perception of Italian families regarding consumption: almost 3 families of 10 (29%, was 27% in July ) think that the next six months there will be an increase. Down again, however, the percentage of those who sees a drop in consumption is 25% against 28% in July. But Italy is also divided on the expenditure for purchases: while 32% of those who see a decline in the coming months lies in the South, only half, 16% is located in the North.

slightly downhill, on a national level, the share of households that is not satisfied with their financial situation (item which includes, in addition to income, any debts and assets) in October are still the majority, but down from 54% to 53% . Again, they are very strong differences between the macro-areas of the country: the North families who perceive themselves satisfied are 58%, Centre 45% while in the South only 36%, while 64% of households dissatisfied resides in the South, 55% is located in the Centre and 42% live in the north.
