Pensions, that’s who can anticipate: exit immediately to esodati, women and disocupati – The Messenger

Between the Palazzo Chigi and the Treasury the watchword is ‘caution’. The fear, pensions, is to create expectations that can then be disappointed. The government is working to incorporate a “dose” of flexibility within the law of stability that will be submitted by 15 October. Today what we will push forward with the flexibility is not yet established. It depends on many factors, chief of which are the costs to the state coffers. The final decision will be taken at a summit this week, probably maercoledì, including Matteo Renzi and ministers Giuliano Poletti and Pier Carlo Padoan. Yesterday the Prime Minister said he hoped for an intervention in stability, “with common sense and reasonableness.” Padoan made it clear that the reform can not be cost-free. The reason is simple. In the national accounts it is expected to INPS collections a number of contributions and pay a number of guest houses. If the age is to leave the service early, INPS will have to pay more pensions immediately cashing less contributions. This is true even though on social security checks is applied a penalty.

KNOTS WERE So, at least in the early years of flexibility, is to be found a funding package. And to find the technicians are working for some time. The basic idea is to recover resources from the money not spent on the old safeguards of esodati. The state has allocated nearly 12 billion euro to protect about 170,000 people. Applications accepted, as recalled Padoan in Parliament a few days ago, are just over 120,000, while the pensions paid to date to esodati are about 87,000. According to some calculations, at the time the allocated resources and expenses would be around 500 million euro. In fact, the end result could be higher, up to 700 million to 800 million. These are sums that, for now, is over “in economy”, ie the benefit of the public budget. We must find a way to recover them. What is certain is that 800 million, or a billion, do not allow to introduce a generalized flexibility, which would have higher costs, at least 4 billion. Continue reading on newsstands
