The economic sector with the highest number of active enterprises invested in by a public entity, detection or Istat, is the Professional, scientific and technical, with 13.4% of companies and 2 , 8% of employees. The economic sector that employs the largest number of employees instead is that of the Transport and storage, which collects 37% of employees and 10.3% of businesses.

In 23.8% of cases the seat owned companies is located in central Italy (53.4% ​​of employees). The average size of the subsidiaries based in the center is 278 employees per company and is strongly influenced by firms located in Lazio. Viral particles with an average size of 580 employees per company, for a total of 743 companies (9.7% of the total) and 430 638 employees (45.3% of employees).

The territorial distribution with the largest number of institutions is the Northwest: 27.7% on investments, 21.1% of employees and an average size of 94 employees per company. Inside the Lombardy holds 16.2% of the companies and 11.7% of employees, for an average size of 89 employees per company.
