MILAN – Between water to waste Italy beats all with increases in public rates of 79.5 and 70% in the last 10 years. It should be just better in general where – between 2010 and 2014, the average increase was “only” 19.1%, as in Ireland, while the primacy belongs to Spain with increases of 23.7%. Among the major countries of Europe, however, France has recorded an average annual inflation of 12.9%, while Germany scored a retouching prices to rise only 4.2%. The euro area has increased by 11.8% in administered prices: more than 7 percentage points lower than here.
The calculations were carried out by studies of Cgia that, in addition to running a comparison between the performance of the ad ministered tariffs in the major countries of Europe, has also analyzed the trend recorded between 2004 and the first 11 months of 2014 the tariffs of the main public services in our country. Among the largest increases significi – as mentioned – that of the waste tax was more than 70% as well as for water (79.5%).
In the last 10 years, then, in the face of an increase in inflation in Italy was 20.5%, the water is increased by 79.5% and the waste of 70.8%, electricity by 48.2%, motorway tolls of 46.5%, rail transport by 46.3%, gas by 42.9%, 41.6% of the urban transport, taxi service and postal services 31.6% 27.9%. Of all the items analyzed, only phone services have decreased: -15.8%.
“In our country – said the secretary of the CGIA, Giuseppe Bortolussi – the highest increases have affected local rates . If as regards water prices charged are still now among the lowest in Europe, the increases from waste are totally unjustifiable. Because of the economic crisis, in the last seven years there has been a real vertical drop in household consumption and business: consequently also decreased the amount of waste produced. Therefore, with less garbage to be collected and disposed of, rates had come down, however, are inexplicably increased. Consider that in the last year, following the transition from the Tares Tari, Italians have even paid 12.2 percent more compared with an inflation that has increased by only 0.3 percent. ”
As for the gas the secretary of Cgia stresses on increases have affected “the cost of raw materials and the exchange rate”, while electricity has weighed “the trend in oil prices and the increase in the general expenses of the system, in particular for the coverage of the incentive schemes of renewable sources. ” It must be even worse for the Codacons that “Italian families they leave behind, in 2014, a blow from 324 euro due to increased domestic prices and local.”
