After years of hard crisis, the turnover of the Italian boat starts to grow. According to the first data available in the new edition of Nautica in figures, prepared by the Research Department of UCINA Confindustria nautical, it appears that the industry revenues in 2014 amounted to 2.5 billion euro, with an increase of 2.1% compared to 2013.
A figure in line with the lowest estimate of the forecasts made in September, in which he foreshadowed a growth of between 2 and 7%, but still very important indication. And if, in terms of production, the domestic market in 2014 still shows a drop (-6.2%), the start of a positive trend for boating is confirmed by data supplied by the leasing Assilea, which show growth 15.4% in 2014 over the previous year and an increase of 30% in the first quarter of 2015.
“The boat production – says Stefano Pagani Isnardi office Ucina studies – shows signs of recovery, for the time being determined entirely by exports. The shipbuilding industry, the leading sector of the production, in 2014 registered an increase of 1.9% compared to 2013. Positive data on leasing spread by Assilea. In the first 90 days of 2015 have doubled the number of new contracts, and the value of the sums paid over the same period last year (for new units is about 15% growth on the equivalent period of 2014). And this is the signal, explain Ucina, “indicating a recovery of the internal market, can not be read in the data for last year.” In the period from January to March also it grew significantly the number of leasing of units used, which exceeded 50% of total new contracts, due to the disposal of the stock accumulated in the years of crisis, under existing agreements stranded.
