Cna, the Jobs Act pushes assumptions – The Republic

MILAN – A leap of the assumptions in the order of 8.5% year on year is news that affects matter. The figure assumes an even greater when you consider the context in which it was achieved, after a long season of difficulty on this front and the heated controversy about the usefulness or not of the reforms implemented by the government in recent months. According to the Observatory’s work, produced by the Research Center of the CNA, in March assumptions in small businesses have been 3245, just 8.6% more than in the same month last year. The figure does not have an absolute value on employment dynamics Italian, both because it took into account only the smaller firms, and because it is limited to a sample of companies (as significant, being 20,500 for a total of 127 thousand employees), but is undoubtedly significant.

The researchers attribute the change of direction to the combined effect of the Jobs Act, which came into force on 7 March, and the de-contribution for employees on permanent contracts included in the Stability Law. In fact it is the latter category of workers to score the best results, with an increase in permanent contracts in the order of 54.6% (+ 86% considering only employed full time). The permanent workers were in March 41.2% of the total against 28.9% a year ago. Decreased assumptions with other types of contracts: -8.3% -18.5% and the fixed term apprenticeships.

The research also allows you to get an idea (albeit partial) the impact that the government’s measures are having on overall employment in our country. In the sample observed, in March the new hires were 3,245 against 2,674 terminations, with a positive net balance of 571 new jobs. Compared to February, the increase is 0.5%: this is an important trend, but that is unlikely to continue in the coming months on these levels, given that many companies may have concentrated their choices in the weeks following the debut of Jobs Act. In March 2014, however, there were 2,988 new contracts and 2,809 terminations, with a balance of 179 units. “There are positive signs: perhaps small businesses begin to hook the tepid recovery and they start employment. The optimism begins to peep”, report by CNA.
