ATHENS (Reuters) – Prime Minister greek, Alexis Tsipras, has urged the Parliament to approve the agreement reached with creditors on a new aid package of about 85 billion euro, talking about “necessary choice” in the interest of the country.
Addressing the parliament before the vote, Alexis Tsipras said that the Minister of Finance Euclid Tsakalotos opposed the meeting of finance ministers of the euro area to the hypothesis of a bridge loan – an option which would be a return to a ” crisis without end “- that would be offered to Greece instead of the aid plan.
The greek Parliament has rinuito again this morning after a long series of debates and procedural issues have delayed the vote originally scheduled tonight.
