The Greece will not end in default and will remain an integral part of the Eurozone. This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, in an interview with German website Rp. Online. “Greece has still a long way to go – said Juncker – we have not yet the necessary clarity on reform plans but concrete step in the right direction. I can say right now is that there will be no sovereign default in Greece is and will remain an integral part of the euro zone. ” Greece, Juncker explained yet, “must respect the agreements signed with the Eurogroup and engage in fiscal policy and finance sustainable and credible. If election promises must be implemented, they must therefore be supported. ”

The President of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem, meanwhile, will be in Paris, Berlin and Rome between 6 and 8 May “to discuss the future of economic and monetary union, and other open issues concerning the Eurogroup, including the situation in Greece, “he said in a note of the European Council. Dijsselbloem will be in Italy on May 8, to meet with the Minister of Economy and Finance Pier Carlo Padoan.

The head of the Eurogroup, with the presidents of the Commission and EU Council Jean Claude Juncker, and Donald Tusk, and that of the ECB Mario Draghi, is working on a report – expected in June – on a closer coordination of economic policies and improved economic governance in the euro area. The round of meetings kicks off from Paris, May 6, where Dijsselbloem will see Finance Minister Michel Sapin and the Economy Emmanuel Macron, and Prime Minister Manuel Valls. On May 7, it will be in Berlin, where he will see Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble and Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel. Then comes the turn of Rome.
