WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The European Central Bank will complete its program of monetary expansion with the ‘quantitative easing’ extended to the government bonds of the euro area under the terms provided. Says President Mario Draghi, that there are no signals that the instrument ‘q’ is making financial imbalances occur.
“If we have already seen tangible effects of the expansionary measures on asset classes and indexes of confidence, what matters is, however, especially the parallel effect on investment, consumption and inflation,” reads the text of a speech prepared for an event in the US capital.
“In this context, fully realize our program of purchases in the manner and time previously announced, and in any case until we see a revival of inflationary pressure.”
