STEP 1-MPS judgment process Alexandria Oct. 31 – Reuters Italy

SIENA, October 10 (Reuters) – The judgment of the trial against the former president of MPS Giuseppe Mussari, the former general manager Antonio Vigni and former responsible for the finance Gianluca Baldassarri will be issued on October 31.


       

This was announced by the president of the court of Siena, Leonardo Grassi, at the conclusion of today’s hearing, during which the defendants requested the acquittal of their clients, the prosecutor had asked to condemn Mussari to seven years in prison, Vigni and Baldassarri six years.

The lawyer Franco Coppi, defender of Vigni, ruled out any liability of the accused and pointed out that the inspectors of the Bank of Italy had perfectly understood the connection between the restructuring of Alexandria and the operation BTP 2034, thanks to the information received from the officials of the bank. “There was no concealment, no fraudulent concealment and therefore no obstacle to the supervisory authorities.’s Why we expect an acquittal on all counts,” said Coppi reporters after the hearing.
