Volkswagen overtakes Toyota in late June 2015 – Il Sole 24 Ore

Volkswagen surpassed Toyota and became the largest automotive manufacturer in the world with three years in advance about the proposed objectives. To anticipate is the agency Bloomberg alleging that Toyota sold 5.02 million vehicles in the first six months of the year, while Volkswagen in the same period totaled 5.04 million units. Deliveries for both manufacturers fell over the same period of 2014: 1.5% for Toyota and 0.5 percent for the Volkswagen. In Toyota sales are recognized even Daihatsu and Hino brand heavy trucks. In the “numbers” of VW, however, they are inserted or trademarks Man and Scania trucks. General Motors, is the third largest car manufacturer for global sales, with deliveries worldwide declined by 1.2% in the first half to 4.86 million vehicles. Overtaking Volkswagen was possible because the demand for cars in Europe is growing, offsetting the slowdown in China, the largest market in the VW Group. But the heads up will continue in prosismi months in which the global automotive industry will face a market, China, sharply stall, but also the slump in demand in Russia and the weakness of some countries of Southeast Asia and South America. In the United States, however, deliveries were up 4.4% in the first half of the year.
