US stocks rise, Nasdaq slows after 5000 points, runs NXP – Reuters Italy


       

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wall Street indexes traveling moderate rise, with the Nasdaq who returned to share 5,000 points for the first time since 2000, although, after reaching the threshold, has slowed down.


       

US stocks seems to have digested the mixed macro data and continues to trend higher after the rally of February, the best month for over three years for the S & amp; P.


       

The data on consumer spending in January showed the second consecutive month in decline, while personal incomes, despite the rise of 0.3%, were below expectations.


       

As for the manufacturing sector, the ISM index has marked a slowdown in February, rising to a minimum of thirteen months. The manufacturing PMI in February by Markit is instead climbed the highest of the last four months.


       

NXP jumps of about 15% after announcing the acquisition of FREESCALE (approximately + 11%) to $ 11.8 billion in cash and stock.


       

Boston Scientific positive (+ 0.8% approximately) after announcing the acquisition of a portfolio of medical systems in the field of urology Endo International (approximately + 2.5%) to $ 1.65 billion.


       

Hewlett-Packard (approximately 0.7%) announced that it will detect Aruba Networks (1.6% reduction) for about 2.7 billion in cash.


       

Cardinal Health greets with a rise of 1.8% over the acquisition of the division of vascular technology from Johnson & amp; Johnson (about + 0.7%) to $ 1.9 billion.


       

Among the other titles in evidence, Ohr Pharmaceutical flies (+ 33% approximately) after announcing the success of a clinical trial of a drug in development for the treatment of blindness due to old age.


       

At around 18.45 Italian, the Dow Jones gained 0.52%, the S & amp; P 500 0.24% and the Nasdaq 0.42%.
