ROME, March 17 (Reuters) – The Ministry of Economy states that “it is not planned placement of Eni shares on the market.”

“The point is that it must remain a reference of the public participation: are strategic companies, however, we will do what has been done on Enel for Eni,” said De Vincenti.
At the same time Treasury note, De Vincenti has issued a statement in which he speaks of “misunderstanding”.
“The response reported by news agencies on the possible sale of a stake in Eni reflects the reality of a misunderstanding: I meant to refer to the fact put on the market already achieved a market share of Enel,” it said in the clarification of the deputy minister.
The Treasury has recently completed the sale on the market of 5.74% of Enel 2.2 billion.
In September last year, the ministry had also hypothesized to yield 4.34% of Eni, option then excluded.
