Especially affected the Apulian countryside: in the province of Foggia a gang of Bulgarian citizens had organized to clean up the olive groves in the area of ​​Cerignola, before being stopped by the police; not far operated two other teams of Romanians, intent on “clean” olive trees. Liguria , however, farmers have been forced to organize themselves to defend the precious olives.

And yet in the Marche , in Macerata, two people were arrested after stealing more than 50 kilograms of oil.

For this Coldiretti “asked the prefectures in the area for intervention to patrol the streets more sensitive, to protect the transit of trucks carrying tanks of olive oil, and a more massive presence of security forces in the countryside. But he also thinks the installation of video cameras in the olive groves . ”
