Italy at risk recession in 2015 – Moody’s – Reuters Italy


       

MILAN, November 10 (Reuters) – Italy is likely to remain in recession next year. The expected ratings agency Moody’s in the report Global Macro Outlook provides for the coming year a trend of Italian gross domestic product between -0.5 and + 0.5% against + 0.5% indicated less than a month ago.


       

On the other hand, says the agency, “economic reforms impelementate of peripheral countries, and more recently in Italy and France, will have a positive impact on GDP but gradual.”


       

Moody’s last month had called the acceleration towards reform of the Italian government compatible with the maintenance of a stable outlook on the ratings of Italy to ‘Baa2′.


       

The update released today, Moody’s said it expected in the short term “further increases in unemployment in Paasi weaker euro zone, like France and Italy, which will weaken consumer spending and broaden the context of low growth, already very prolonged. “


       

This year, the rating agency expects a GDP of between -0.5 and + 0.5%. The point estimate provided last month projected a contraction of the Italian GDP in 2014 of 0.3%.
