British and US authorities have fined UBS, Citigroup, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland and JP Morgan for a total of $    3.4 billion, approximately EUR 2.73 billion as a result of a scandal that has clouded the  largest the world market. At about 11.10 the FTSEurofirst 300 marks a decline of 0.45% to 1352.66 points. At the European, Frankfurt yields 0.91%, 0.42% London, Paris 0.65%. “The fines are not that high compared to others that have hit a number of banks recently, and overall the market has become accustomed,” said Frederic Rozier, fund manager of Meeschaert. “But it reassures investors sull’outlook for the banking sector. There are growing concerns in Europe about the pressure on the banks and the question of whether the transmission of the ECB’s measures to support lending work.” Among the titles featured: HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland lost respectively 0.9% and 0.5%, while JPMorgan and Citi fall of 0.9% and 0.15%. Barclays leaves on the ground for 1.6%. It was expected that the British bank fell in the agreement, but the Fca announced that the school continues its investigation. Going against UBS, to about 0.4%, with traders who argue that the  fine has already been called into account. The oil services group SBM Offshore NV has risen to nearly 19.5% after an agreement of 240 million dollars with the Dutch authorities in an investigation into alleged bribes to government officials.
