The Deputazione Amministratrice of the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, held on the 5th of November, has identified, with the support of the advisor Spencer Stuart, Mr. Alessandro Falciai, a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (the “Bank”) as from April 2015, as a candidate for the office of President, in replacement of dr. Massimo Tononi.
Therefore, even in the guise of a socio-historic of the Bank, the Foundation will propose the name chosen at the shareholders ‘ meeting called for 24 November.
Mr. Falciai has a degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Naples and a Master in Business Administration from the INSEAD, Fontainebleau. He worked at the European Space Agency project of the International Space Station. Then in the group Iri/Stet, where as the director for Latin America has developed all the relevant activities of the existing Telecom Italia in south America.
In 1997 assumed the position of chief executive officer of Industrial Electronics, technological society and infrastructure of the Mediaset group. In 2000 he founded the Dmt spa, and then a public company in 2004, with the aim of developing the business of telecommunications towers in Italy, together with the digital terrestrial television.
In 2011 to promote the success of the merger with towers Mediaset, exiting then from Dmt Spa (now EI Towers Spa). Since 2012, Mr. Falciai has been developing its holding company Millenium Partecipazioni Srl articolandone the activities in three ar eas: real estate, private equity and finance, and is active with investments both in Italy and abroad.
considering the high profile of this nomination and also in-depth knowledge of the Bank that Mr. Falciai has gained in recent years in the quality of the board as well as Chairman of the Nominating Committee, it is believed that such contact can converge a broad consensus of the shareholders of Banca Mps.
