Istat: in the second quarter, the deficit/Gdp at 0.2%, growing propensity to save of households

The Accounts of the Government (AP), Families and Societies, are prepared in millions of euros at current prices and are part of the quarterly Accounts of the institutional sectors. The data relating to the AP are discussed in raw form, while those relating to Families and to Society in the form of seasonally adjusted.
In the second quarter of 2016, the net debt of the AP-to-Gdp ratio was equal to 0.2%, an improvement of 0.7 percentage points compared to the same quarter of 2015.
The primary balance of AP (borrowing net of interest expense) was positive, with an incidence on Gdp of 4.4% (4.1% in the second quarter of 2015).
The current balance of the AP was also positive, with an incidence on Gdp of 3.1% (3.0% in the second quarter of 2015).
The tax burden was equal to 42.3%, marking a reduction of 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
The disposable income of consumer households increased 1.3% compared to the previous quarter, while consumption increased by 0.2%. Accordingly, the propensity to save of consumer households increased by 0.9 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, rising to 9.6%.
In the face of an increase of 0.1%, the deflator implicit in consumption of the households, the purchasing power is increased 1.1%.
The share of profit of non-financial corporations, amounted to 41,9%, increased by 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. The rate of investment has remained unchanged at 19.2 percent.
