The Istat revises downwards its estimates for inflation in September. The national index of consumer prices for the entire community (Nic), gross of tobacco, in fact decreased by 0.4% on a monthly basis and increased by 0.2% on an annual basis (the preliminary estimate was +0, 3%), registering the same trend rate in the prior quarter. For the National Institute of Statistics inflation acquired for 2015 falls well to + 0.1% (from + 0.2% in August).

The so-called shopping cart, with product prices high frequency of purchase, resulting in steady-term profile and recorded a decrease of 0.3% compared to September 2014. “The decrease on a monthly basis of the general index is attributable mainly to the downside, which is affected by factors of a seasonal nature, the prices of transport services (-4 , 0%), partially offset by the increase in prices of unprocessed food (+ 1.7%). Net of unprocessed food and energy prices, the ” core inflation ‘rises to 0.8% (from + 0.7% in August); net only in energy is brought to 0.9% (from + 0.8% the previous month).

It expands the inflation differential between goods and services
Compared with September 2014, the prices of goods recorded a decrease of 0.5% (was -0.4 % in August), while the growth rate of prices of services rose to 0.9% (from + 0.7% in August). As a result, compared to the figure recorded in August 2015, the inflation differential between goods and services is expanded by three tenths of a percent.
The price of food, care of the house and of the person increased by 0.6 % MoM and 1.2% YoY (from 0.7% in August).
