ROME (Reuters) – In the course of 2014 the investigators of the Look of Finance have identified fraud to public funds and to the welfare system for about 1.5 billion euro, and waste for a total of 2.6 billion euro, says the annual report of the Corps issued today.
According to the report, fraud for improperly received contributions from the European Union amounted to over 666 million euro, while the other 618 million are the result of fraud for national incentives.
In terms of health care costs, have been established for over 141 million fraud, 113 for social security spending.
For the Yellow Flames also were awarded irregularly public procurement to 1.793 billion euro (over a third compared to the value of the contracts audited), while the loss of revenue amounted to 2.672 billion euro, with over 11,600 people reported.
The Finance has also discovered 8,000 total evaders, and subtracted organized crime assets for € 4 billion.
